THE STORY BEHIND IT
London’s Collective was founded by me, Inayah, and it began with my own personal journey of searching for confidence, friendship, and belonging. At 21 years old, I realised just how important it is to have a community around you. During my college years and even in my first year of university, I found it difficult to make friends. At times, I felt isolated and even experienced bullying, which affected my self-esteem. But rather than letting those challenges define me, I chose to turn them into motivation. I worked on myself, overcame my fears, and made a promise to create something that would give others the support I once needed.
That promise became London’s Collective. What started as a simple idea—to meet people, make friends, and be present in their lives—has grown into a thriving platform. I had no friends, no confidence, and no network, yet I built this community from scratch. And in doing so, I also built myself. London’s Collective gave me the confidence I lacked, and it opened doors to opportunities that once felt impossible.
The Collective first began as a safe space for women, but as it grew, I expanded it to welcome men too, creating a diverse and inclusive platform for everyone. Today, London’s Collective is more than just a community—it’s a place where people connect, grow, and find opportunities. From social events like bowling nights, sip & paint sessions, and picnic gatherings, to professional and business networking events that shine a spotlight on small businesses, we bring people together in meaningful ways.
At the heart of London’s Collective is a simple belief: community is stronger than competition. Supporting others—whether they are individuals, brands, or even competitors—creates growth for everyone. I’ve seen this first-hand. Through the Collective, people have built friendships, found business partners, collaborated on projects, and unlocked opportunities they never thought possible.
For me, this journey has been life-changing. I went from being someone who struggled to find her place to becoming the founder of a community that helps others discover theirs. London’s Collective is proof that when you work hard, believe in your vision, and stand by your purpose, you can build something that not only transforms your life but also uplifts countless others.
